WATERCOLOR MOSAIC is an advanced watercolor technique painting demonstration. I invite you to join me in my studio as I paint this imaginative watercolor painting inspired by the wonderful French town Saint Paul de Vence.
In this demonstration I use what’s called a “direct painting” method. Direct painting is an approach where each shape is placed on the paper in its desired final state. This means there’s almost no layering and building up of the painting. To construct a painting like this I hold the image of the finished painting in my mind from the very start. I start my painting by visualizing the negative pattern of whites. I then simply focus on painting around this pattern. This way I approach the work as a sculptor, chipping away at a block of marble. What’s left is my whites and if the whites are preserved as desired, the painting is a success.
Join me in this relaxing abstract watercolor painting demonstration and enjoy the good vibes of this relaxing watercolor painting.
